SUPPORT THE STRAZ CENTER

Support TBPAC

Contributions are vital to help the Straz Center fulfill its mission. As a nonprofit organization, the Straz Center relies on a variety of funding sources to help underwrite internationally acclaimed artists, educate young audiences, create important community programs and maintain our remarkable facility.

Ticket sales and other earned income do not completely cover the costs of the Straz Center's numerous programs and education offerings. Only support from individuals, corporations, foundations and our public partners can make these programs possible.

There are many ways to give to the Straz Center, with benefits and privileges available to you in thanks for your generosity. Play your part with the Straz Center. It is your contribution that sustains the Straz Center and makes Tampa a better place to live and visit.

2009 Study: The arts are good business!

Non-profit arts and culture are a significant industry in Hillsborough County – one that generates $298 million in local economic activity, according to a new study from Americans for the Arts.

This spending -- $145.7 million by the nonprofit arts and culture organizations and an additional $152.3 million in event-related spending by their audiences – supports 8,377 full-time equivalent jobs, generates $192.4 million in household income to local residents, and delivers $30.6 million in local and state government revenue.

Nationally, the nonprofit arts and culture industry generates $166.2 billion in economic activity annually – a 24 percent increase in just the past five years. That amount is greater than the Gross Domestic Product of most countries.

This spending supports 5.7 million full-time jobs in the U.S. – an increase of 850,000 jobs since the 2002 study.

This industry also generates a spectacular return on investment of 7:1 for the three levels of government’s collective spending of $4 billion annually on arts and culture.
